The Sports Data Analytics Associate will contribute to data analysis, programming, and development efforts within the domains of Sports Performance, including Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning, Psychology, and Nutrition.
This role will apply analytical expertise and problem-solving skills to visualize and interpret data, enhancing its utility in addressing challenges that impact the health, development, and performance of Notre Dame student-athletes. Additional responsibilities include conducting system analysis, implementing code modifications, and performing functional testing to resolve application production issues. The Associate will collaborate closely with the Back-End Database Engineer to ensure seamless integration and functionality of data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Collaborate with the Back-End Database Engineer to seamlessly integrate data-driven solutions into existing and new systems, while partnering with performance staff to ensure analytics tools align with and adapt to the evolving needs of the Sports Performance team.
- Apply analytical expertise and programming skills to interpret and visualize data across Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning, Psychology, and Nutrition. Develop insights and build tools to address performance-related challenges, enhance data accessibility, and support the health, development, and success of student-athletes.
- Facilitate internal and external research projects in collaboration with other members of Sports Performance.
- Other duties as assigned by the Sports Performance Leadership Team
Position Details
This position will be based on the University of Notre Dame campus and the surrounding South Bend area, with travel as directed.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a sports science related field; graduate-level training preferred
- Highly skilled with performance technology throughout the entire data lifecycle
- Excellent explicit and tacit knowledge of monitoring training and performance in athletes
- Knowledge and skills required to formulate and pursue impactful research questions regarding student-athlete health and performance
- Strong organizational skills, intellectual curiosity, stress tolerance, the ability to handle uncertainty, and persistent desire to start and complete projects
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically adapt messaging to a diverse group of stakeholders
- Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Nights and weekends will be required
