Senior Accountant

Summary:

Reporting to the Controller, you will ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. The position will work across departments, prepare financial reports, handle budgets/forecasts, month-end close, evaluate and improve accounting processes.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX and internal policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement new accounting procedures and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Manage relationships internally and with external auditors and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding financial transactions.
• Review and approve all financial transactions, ensuring that they are in accordance with accepted accounting principles.
• Maintain accurate and timely financial records and balances.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA and MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, and manufacturing environment.
• Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience with accounting software, such as SAP or Oracle.
