Job Description

Our Pharmacy Department uses a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety! We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model. The department has one of the most robust set of electronic clinical resources in the country and a dynamic medication safety program.Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over four million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has approximately 600 employees with 400 pharmacists servicing patients in 40 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties.MSK provides free, live, onsite, accredited continuing education pharmacy courses to help keep your credentials up to date. The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site informative meetings. The size and scope of our organization provides many opportunities to advance your knowledge and grow your career.We are looking for a Pharmacist to join our MSK Monmouth team. This role will support Pharmacy services to include conventional and investigational chemotherapy /biologic therapy, and Omnicell support. This position will also float to cover MSK Basking Ridge facility as needed.

Role Overview:

• Report to the Pharmacy Manager and work alongside Pharmacy Clinical Coordinators & Staff Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Retail Pharmacy Operations Coordinator, and with team Administrators, Nurses, and Physicians
• Be responsible for all parts of chemotherapy order verification, order entry, mixing and checking
• Work closely with Pharmacy Manager to maintain adequate staffing daily for the Pharmacy, moving staff around to areas as needed to smooth work-flow and treat patients in a safe and timely manner
• Be involved in implementing new pharmacy technology and projects
• Assist with training new pharmacy staff; training and education of staff on new technologies, drug info, Omnicell usage etc
• Support Pharmacy operations at MSK Monmouth as well as MSK Basking Ridge when needed.

Qualifications:

• PharmD (or equivalent)
• NJ State Pharmacist License; Required to Apply
• Strong digital literacy and the ability to develop a good understanding of pharmacy systems
• IV compounding experience (preferred)
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience (preferred)
• Five or more years' experience in Chemotherapy Pharmacy practice (preferred)
• Omnicell/PYXIS experience (preferred)

Additional Information:

• Hours: Variable shifts; Current hours of staffing are 7 am- 8pm Monday - Friday. Hours subject to change based on patient need.
• Location: MSK Basking Ridge in Basking Ridge, NJ; will float to MSK Monmouth, NJ as needed
• Reporting to: Manager, Pharmacy

Pay Range: $56.06-$89.65
