Mining Engineer

LOCATION: Martinsburg, West Virginia

Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Mining Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing the development of mines, ensuring safe and efficient extraction of minerals while maintaining environmental standards. This role involves planning, budgeting, and coordinating mining operations to optimize production and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement mining plans and systems for efficient mineral extraction.
Conduct feasibility studies and prepare reports on mining projects.
Monitor and manage mine production tracking and budgeting processes.
Collaborate with geologists and other engineers to evaluate and report on ore bodies.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in all mining activities.
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for effective maintenance scheduling and tracking.
Oversee the operation of surface mines and quarries, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Prepare and present annual budget proposals for mining operations and projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mining engineering, preferably in surface mining and aggregates.
Strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment, and safety regulations.
Experience with CMMS and budgeting processes in mining operations.
Proficiency in geological and engineering software for mining applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, able to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
