Job Description

Serves as an unclassified employee pursuant to Section 3301.13. R.C. and performs the following educational and/or research duties:

Administers systemic functions of secondary programs in Career and Technical Education (CTE) including Career Based Intervention (CBI) and Job Training Coordination (JTC):

  • Assists in the development of technical content standards and related guidance;
  • Establishes partnerships with business and industry;
  • Serves as liaison to external agencies and organizations;
  • Assists in the collaboration between the Office for Exceptional Children and the Office of Career-Technical Education;
  • Assists internal and external stakeholders in ensuring all students (e.g., gifted, at risk, with disabilities) have equal access and appropriate service delivery in all CTE programs per state and federal guidelines:
  • Assists with the implementation of programs and activities associated with career-technical student organizations;
  • Develops innovative delivery models for program enhancement;
  • Independently researches and interprets trends and labor market projections to redefine roles and training needs for CBI/JTC programs;
  • Develops operational procedures and interprets/implements policy from federal and state guidelines.
  • Reviews and approves initial program applications (CTE-26/Program of Study) for compliance with Ohio Administrative Rule and established CTE guidelines;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., works on other agency projects).

Provides technical assistance to school district personnel (e.g., integrating content standards into curriculum, Program of Study development/implementation, development of Student Success & Graduation Plans):

  • Plans and provides professional development activities and technical assistance communication for administrators and educators;
  • Plans and designs strategies to support the implementation of new program models;
  • Researches and compiles data on at risk youth programs, students with disabilities and workforce development needs;
  • Writes reports as required by state and federal authorities;
  • Serves as a liaison to professional associations;
  • Reviews and analyzes program performance data

Qualifications

72 months of experience in any combination of the following:

  • Teaching and/or administrative experience in special education instruction including Career Based Intervention (CBI) and Job Training Coordination (JTC) and procedures as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Implementing school improvement processes in a school setting (e.g., analyzing data, project management, improvement planning, progress monitoring).
