We are looking for a leader who wants to modernize automotive business processes leveraging technology, our world-class team and accounting best practices.
As an Automotive Controller, you will be responsible for managing the financial controls of the business as well as providing both an analytical and strategic partnership with the DGDG Leadership team and your Business team in making business decisions. Additionally, the Controller will have the ability to reimagine the accounting office processes, modernize with new technologies and think creatively. This is a progressive group with high growth plans and the role will be part of the senior leadership team which will be instrumental in the future growth.
What you'll be working on:
- Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will assist in overseeing the accounting and financial processes for the Del Grande Dealer Group, which includes multiple franchise dealership operations as well as other subsidiary companies.
- Manage a team of ~50 business office professionals with a focus on training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Ensure accounting information is delivered in a proper, timely, and accurate fashion and correctly reflects the financial position and performance of all entities.
- Creating and implementing new processes within the business office that focus on improving efficiency and performance within the department.
- Establish and maintain a strong internal control structure including appropriate segregation of duties in the accounting department.
- Preparing monthly financial statements for franchise dealership operations and other subsidiary entities within the company.
- Reviewing financial statements and ledgers and working with the business managers and accounting staff to clear up any discrepancies.
- Analyze and review monthly results with appropriate dealership management and assist in development of actionable items to correct and enhance dealership profitability.
- Ensure proper controls and processes in place to comply with OEM and governmental requirements related to contracting, vehicle registration, manufacturer incentives, etc.
- Prepare appropriate tax reporting forms for various state and local taxing authorities.
- Plan and assist with year-end review of accounting records by our outside accounting firm for the preparation of annual financial reports and tax returns.
- Manage banking operations which include cash management, disbursement and receipt management and related reconciliation and reporting.
- Review the general ledger and all scheduled accounts for proper reconciliation including but not limited to cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, OEM parts statement, and floor plan per corporate accounting standards.
What you need to bring to the table:

- Franchise retail automotive dealership Controller experience, minimum of 5 years preferred.
- Superior analytical ability and critical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent collaborative and communicative skills with team members.
- Strong team building, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in DMS Software & Microsoft Office applications and specifically proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Must have exhibited strong leadership capabilities and ability to pivot in a fast-paced work environment.
- Technology savvy with experience in accounting and ERP packages and other reporting tools.
- Bachelor's degree, CPA or equivalent preferred.
- DMV Check required.
Salary Range: $150,000-225,000/annually
*Pay will be based on individual experience.
